Types of Moving Pads
Textile Skins: Not as durable or strong as furniture blankets but better than paper pads, Textile Skins have nonwoven fabric on both sides.
Paper Pads: Paper Pads are by far the most affordable option for furniture padding, however, they also provide the least amount of protection. Constructed from 3 layers of paper, Paper Pads are best used when other options are too expensive. There is some good news though, unlike blankets, Paper Pads can be taped to securely hold them onto furniture and breakables.
Moving Blankets: Commonly referred to as "Furniture Pads" or "Furniture Quilts", Moving Blankets provide the greatest protection level when compared to the other options. The outer fabric is woven polyester on both sides which is much more durable than nonwoven fabric. We offer four different weights/thicknesses: Economy, Performance, Deluxe and Supreme.
Which Moving Pads Should I Choose?
There should be two primary factors to consider when deciding on furniture protection - First, what can I afford? Bottom line, Moving Blankets are the best but most expensive option, can you afford them? If not, you should consider either Textile Skins or Paper Pads. Remember, something is always better than nothing! Second, what is the quality of my furniture? EVen if you can afford top of the line Moving Blankets they probably won't do you much good if you have basic, low cost furniture. Would you really care if your Ikea desk incurred a scratch during the move? If not, Paper Pads or Textile Skins should be just fine. On the other hand, if you own expensive furniture that cost more than a typical car you should very seriously consider high performance Moving Blankets.

These pads vary in strength, and the furniture pads need to be used to the proper weight specifications. The wide variety of different moving blankets all have a purpose, so use them accordingly.
Moving skins are typically very light weight and they will not allow you to really carry heavier items. They are the perfect way to protect your valuables though. You can keep your smaller items properly cared for and protect in boxes by using these skins.
Some other moving supplies that help with the moving process are great boxes. You will need a wide assortment of different sized moving boxes. You want to get boxes that are rugged and created from the best cardboard material available. Most types of corrugated boxes are the best choice. You can buy a moving blanket separately, or you can buy a group of cheap moving blankets. If you have a large number of things to move, you may want to consider buying wholesale moving blankets.
