Small Moving Boxes
The time has come to move your aunt and uncle from their home to an easy way of life, maintenance-free retirement community. In the last 22 years, they have accumulated many collections and keepsakes that must be weeded through, deciding their fate – family hand-me-down, estate sale or the last resort…dump. The family has gathered to help in the massive sorting and moving project. You have prepared well in advance, having small moving boxes lining the center of each room, appropriately labeled. Lucky for the fam, Aunt Bessy and Uncle Henry have their collections neatly displayed in assigned areas of each room, making the sort a fairly easy undertaking. Section by section, and with the guidance of Aunt B and Uncle H, you work your way through the house, carefully wrapping glass items and moving packing boxes with foam peanuts and bubble wrap. After the last small moving box is taped shut, the family celebrates with Bessy’s famous homemade strawberry lemonade and Henry’s kettle-popped popcorn, and reminisce about days gone by. After the family leaves, the house is quiet, giving you a moment to breathe in one last time the familiar aromas and appreciate the same old nicks in the walls and stains in the carpet. A generation of memories is ending and moving away in wrapping paper and boxes. You tip your hat to the old house, lock the door and drive away with a slight smile. Happy moving Aunt Bessy and Uncle Henry, and may your collections live on!
