8-9 Room Bigger Boxes Kit #8
Your city’s art museum was looking for amateur artists to submit original sculptures using all recycled materials. Grand prize was a trip for six to the Caribbean paradise, Antigua. With Spring break just around the corner, you and your friends took on the challenge and went about building the nation’s largest cardboard castle. As you searched online for cardboard boxes, you quickly found Uboxes.com and a packaged moving kit that would get you well on your way. Just a few days later, your moving kit arrived at your front doorstep, and the six of you began constructing. 20 extra-large packing boxes served as the base of your cardboard palace, while the remaining 95 packing boxes were cut, grooved, notched, nipped, ripped, trimmed and carved into intricate castle components.
The moving supplies included in the kit added the final touches… 96 feet of thick bubble wrap served as the moat surrounding the fortress; 12 pounds of packing paper was meticulously cut into vine leaves climbing outside the walls; four black markers drew each brick; and the 440 yards of sticky packing tape secured everything in its place. You were just about to celebrate your grand achievement when you realized you still had to move your cardboard mansion to the museum! Good thing two box cutters came with the moving kit – you were able to carefully dissect each section and load them into the truck to transport across town. The reconstruction of your cardboard boxes was quick, and you beat the deadline by an entire day. Your team kept your fingers crossed while the judges inspected each entry. When your names weren’t called for third or second place, you knew there was only one chance left. “First place goes to…Castle Made of Cardboard Boxes!” Your creative efforts had certainly paid off, and you dreamed of fairytales and princesses on the 11 hour plane ride to your Caribbean kingdom!
